Coffee

Minneapolis coffee shops are rather busy in the winter season. It’s the perfect place to warm up on a chilly afternoon, a place to sit and catch up with friends in the evening or a place to bring a laptop and catch up on some work.

Most of the coffee shops here serve something to eat with their huge drink selection. Whether you are looking for something unique and hidden or everyone’s favorite coffee shop, here is a look at some popular coffee shops in town.

Uncommon Grounds Coffee House – 2809 Hennepin Avenue

Located in an old mansion, the Uncommon Grounds Coffee House is in an 1877 Victorian House. You’ll love their plush emerald green booths and the shaded outdoor patio on warmer days. It’s located in the heart of Uptown and offers excellent cheesecake and fudge cake to go with your coffee.

The Purple Onion Café – 1301 Southeast University Avenue

The Purple Onion Café claims to be more than a coffee shop. They offer coffee, food and free Internet to patrons. They see many students from the University of Minnesota. Parking is tricky but you can find nearby meters.

Wilde Roast Café – 65 Southeast Main Street

The Wilde Roast Café is inspired by Oscar Wilde and offers a beautiful interior. You can sit on the Chesterfield couch next to the fireplace while you drink your coffee. Enjoy their wine and food options as well. It’s located in the Riverplace Building, overlooking the river.

Isles Bun & Coffee – 1424 West 28th Street

Isles Bun & Coffee is another option in Uptown. Their inviting atmosphere makes it a favorite choice and they offer amazing cinnamon rolls and coffee. Enjoy their sidewalk seating on warm-weather days.

Hard Times Café – 1821 Riverside Avenue

Hard Times Café is a good choice for those looking for organic coffee and vegetarian dishes. The food is good and the vibe is unconventional. You have to write your order on a piece of paper. Don’t miss the amazing muffin selection.
