Brit’s Pub & Eating Establishment has been Minneapolis’ source of UK cuisine for over 20 years. It’s one of Minneapolis locals’ favorites for the atmosphere, menu and the rooftop lawn bowling. Whether you enjoy lawn bowling in the summer or the fireplace in the winter, it’s a year-round favorite place to hang out. Located in downtown Minneapolis since 1990, Brit’s has grown from a small tavern into a large institution with added spaces and square footage. Here is a look at what you can expect when you visit Brit’s.
About Brit’s Pub
The pub was once a two-room tavern but over the years more rooms have been added. The Long Room was added in 1994 and the English Garden Park was added in 1998 featuring 10,000 square feet of Lawn Bowling green. Brit’s expanded in 2006 to open two new spaces included The Clubhouse and The Veranda Bar. The Veranda Bar is the outdoor rooftop bar that overlooks the English Garden Park and The Clubhouse is the cocktail and party lounge overlooking the Peavey Plaza and Nicollet Mall.
The restaurant is open from 11am-2am all year round. Lawn Bowling is only open between May and September. The kitchen is open Sunday through Thursday from 11am-12am and weekends from 11am-1am. They are located at 1110 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.
The menu at Brit’s includes UK favorites like fish and chips, soups and salads including Cock-A-Leekie, Bangers and Mash and Shepherd’s Pie. Try the Guinness Pot Roast for your main course or the London Broil. For dessert, try the Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding.
You can always get a cup of tea, coffee or lemonade, but you may want something off the extensive draught beer list, the scotch list or maybe that summer signature cocktail “The Bootleg.”
Lawn bowling is a great time at Brit’s. It’s open bowling on weekends from noon to 11pm for $5 per person. They have leagues, private events and green reservations available.
