It’s hard to believe the fall season is upon us, but here we are once again ready for the leaves to start changing colors and the football and soccer seasons to be in full swing here in beautiful Minneapolis, Minnesota. And with the Twins having yet another tough season, thankfully we have one of the best teams in Football to cling to with the purple and gold.
So if you’re finally ready to say goodbye to summer and kick off the fall season, there are some big things happening in and around Minneapolis during the month of October, with just a few that happened to catch our eye listed below.
2016 Ryder Cup- Through October 2
The 2016 Ryder Cup winds down October 2, bringing hundreds of thousands of visitors and some of the best golfers in the world to the Minneapolis area. This was the first time the event came to the state.
Twin Cities Marathon- October 9
The 35th Twin Cities Marathon kicks off early October 9 near U.S. Bank Stadium, before finishing near the State Capitol in St. Paul. The day also features some shorter runs and family-friendly events including a health and fitness expo.
Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet- October 20
Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet takes the stage for “Dracula” at the University of Minnesota October 20. The ballet blends the beauty of dance with the thrilling story told on the Carlson Family Stage.
Scarecrows in the Garden- Through October 31
Fall may be here but there’s still plenty of time to bring some fun to your garden. Scarecrows in the Gardens are on display at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum through the end of the month. Staff members and volunteers make the creations and voters choose their favorites.
