If you live or work around Downtown Minneapolis, it appears you’ll have yet another place to choose from when grabbing lunch or dinner, especially if you’re situated near Nicollet Mall.
According to reports, a beer-centric restaurant dubbed HopCat will be making its debut this summer inside a street level space of the Nic on Fifth luxury apartment complex.
As noted in the released, HopCat will feature at least 100 different beers on tap, which will include over 30 beers from craft breweries here in Minnesota.
With roughly 5,500 square feet of space, HopCat will be large enough to hold about 240 seats, but will also feature an additional 100 seat outdoor patio in the summer.
The food menu at HopCat will be a traditional pub-style menu and include everything from burgers to Detroit-style pizza, but with right around 100 beers on tap, it should be considered a go-to spot for any serious craft beer lover.
Construction for the new restaurant is expected to cost $2 million and should begin shortly after permits are granted. The new Downtown Minneapolis location will be HopCat’s first location in all of Minnesota.
