Loft living is all the rage in Minneapolis and for good reason. The floorplans are appealing and the decorating possibilities are endless. This week we’re taking a look at the Metropolitan Lofts. If you’re considering buying a condo in Minneapolis, here are five reasons you may want to look into this community.
5. The Building is Attractive
To an outsider, the Metropolitan Lofts may seem to have a bit of a split personality. Only about 10 years old, it looks like it’s been around forever. That’s purposeful, by the way. The developers built it so that it would fit in with other Mill District structures. They succeeded. It’s truly hard to tell that the building isn’t a conversion. The brick façade is particularly attractive. I don’t know about you, but I want my home to be attractive.
4. The Layouts are Amazing
The homes at Metropolitan Lofts are two levels and have the typical loft-style open floorplans. Sizes range from 1,400 to 2,100 square feet, so they are in no way dinky. They also offer maple floors, huge windows and gourmet kitchens.
3. It’s a Small Community
If you don’t like feeling like you’re living stacked on top of a gazillion other people, you’ll love Metropolitan Lofts. The community contains only 22 homes, and, with each having two levels, you won’t get that stacked feeling.
2. More Bang for your Housing Buck
Ok, so the community doesn’t offer a lot of the upscale amenities that other Minneapolis condos do, but the beauty of this is that it keeps the price and HOA fees down. You will find a rooftop deck to enjoy, security and heated parking, but nothing else that will raise your monthly house payment into the stratosphere.
1. Location, Location, Location
Metropolitan Lofts is just one block from the river. That’s less than a five-minute walk, or two minutes on your bike. The Guthrie, several amazing restaurants and the paths at Mill Ruins Park are also within five minutes of the community.
When they’re available, lofts at Metropolitan are priced between $400,000 and $500,000. Prices change, however, when the market does, so if you’re interested, call us for current prices.
Metropolitan Lofts are located at 545 2nd Street South in the Mill District.
