Bancroft Elementary School is located in one of the oldest school buildings in the Minneapolis School District. In fact, the Bancroft neighborhood was named after the school. Built in 1912, an addition was added to the school in 1920.

Bancroft Elementary is an IB (International Baccalaureate) World School. It serves 496 Powderhorn community students in grades Pre-K through 5.

The school is proud of the advanced technology it offers students. This includes iMac labs, iPad carts, Promethean boards, digital projectors and document cameras.

Students participate in numerous field trips throughout the year.

Bancroft students go on to Sanford Middle School.
